In what has come to be the norm violating international laws and agreements regarding human rights Egyptian authorities using its security police and military arm has violated the rights of Sinai citizens completely disregarding their humanity and innocence. Death by murder has come to be the fate of the population there including children by extrajudicial killing using live bullets or missiles.
HRM received a complaint from eye witnesses and sources stating that civilian Mahdy Mustafa Abu Zeid 28 from the Alarmeelat clan, a teacher at Abu Taweela School was shot and killed by military forces at Don Alkawthar, Sheikh Zuweid North Sinai on January 8th, 2016.
The sources speaking on condition of anonymity, said Mahdy was ill and unable to breathe and suffered the pain and he feared being shot at by the military forces positioned on rooftops because of the curfew. At the break of dawn as the pain increased he decided to go to the Sheikh Zuweid Central Hospital being the closest to his home. On nearing the hospital wall he began waving to the forces stationed on the roof to let them know he was ill and needed treatment to avoid being shot at. After receiving permission he continued to approach the hospital gates and was surprised without warning by heavy shots aimed towards him. With complete disregard to his condition he was shot in cold blood and died instantly.
The sources added his body remains in the Sheikh Zuweid Central Hospital morgue and his family is pressured to sign a statement allowing that he was shot by anonymous gunmen from the hospital window. The military has breached article 6 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights which states every human being has the inherent right to life. This right shall be protected by law. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his life. Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which mandates everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

Lastly it appeals the international community to send an envoy to inspect the situation in Sinai, Egypt.
