Security forces in civil dress abducted Hany Mohamed Ali Ouf an accountant at the Obour Hospital in Zagazig while returning home from work on Sunday January 3rd. According to his mother the father of 3 Sharqeya's security forces abducted Hany without an arrest warrant and they have not been able to learn where he is being held. A complaint number 20502 has been submitted to the attorney and prosecutor general dated January 5, however to no avail.His family has expressed its concern since he has diabetes and needs daily medication in order that he does not pass out.
In a related incident engineer student Moataz Ahmed Mohamed Hassan 22 was also enforced into disappearance on January 6th, after security forces in uniform stormed his home in Shubra Kheima, Qalubeya at 3 am without legal support. Forces destroyed the house's contents verbally assaulting his family.
His family is concerned for his safety and is worried about his future since he needs to sit his tests. It is worth noting that his lawyers tried to locate where he is being held but have not been able to however they have heard he may be held in custody at Nasr City police station in East Cairo.
HRM calls on the Egyptian authorities to promptly disclose where the detainees are being held and to release them allowing them to communicate with their lawyers. It also calls for the enforced disappearances which have notably increased to end. The measures are a flagrant violation to article 9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which asserts no one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile. Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights which states everyone has the right to liberty and security of person. No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest or detention. No one shall be deprived of his liberty except on such grounds and in accordance with such procedure as are established by law was also ignored.
